Part of the Alliance Series:

Quick Answer

The revamped Alliance Showdown uses outposts in inner, central and outer zones. Occupying them earns alliance points. Registered members are assigned automatically by Power, and R4 or R5 can adjust the assignments. Alliance placement and personal damage rewards are separate goals.

This is the format introduced in version 1.25.700. If your event still shows three lanes, you have a different format; do not try to apply outpost positions to that map.

Overview

Showdown is a recurring alliance competition, separate from Alliance Duel, Alliance Throwdown and Capital Clash. Their similar names cause expensive preparation mistakes. Saving a pile of building speed-ups does not substitute for registering and checking your Showdown assignment.

The useful planning question is: which outposts can this registered roster hold well enough to produce points? Total alliance Power includes accounts that may not be participating. Plan from the event roster.

Registration Checklist

Before registration closes:

  1. Open the event and confirm that your own entry is registered.
  2. Check the formation and Power shown inside the event, rather than relying on your profile total.
  3. Review any displayed formation lock or submission deadline.
  4. Tell officers if the submitted formation is incomplete.
  5. Confirm the event's resolution and reward-claim times.

Do not assume a hero change made elsewhere automatically updates a locked event formation. Reopen the event after changing it and confirm what was saved. That check takes less time than discovering the wrong formation in a report.

How Officers Should Review Outposts

Automatic assignment is the starting roster. It does not establish that the alliance's preferred distribution has been achieved.

Review Question to answer Practical decision
Occupation value What points does this outpost award? Compare its value with the force needed to contest it
Registered strength Which members are actually entered? Build around the submitted roster
Concentration Are several strong members surplus to the same position? Consider whether redistribution makes another outpost defensible
Coverage Which outposts are left weak or empty? Distinguish a deliberate concession from a missed assignment
Deadline When do manual changes lock? Finish the review while changes are still possible

This is a planning framework, not a claim that inner outposts always have a fixed multiplier. Use the values shown on your map. The patch announcement did not supply a universal point table or an optimal allocation.

Occupation Points Versus Damage

The revamped event retains tier rewards and adds individual damage rankings. A formation that maximizes one player's damage may not maximize alliance occupation.

Agree the alliance objective before rearranging players. If the objective is promotion or a particular alliance reward tier, judge a proposed move against that goal. If the alliance is safely ahead, officers may have more room to consider personal rewards. Avoid making these decisions from a single high damage screenshot without the occupation result.

For example, suppose the displayed rules assign different point rates to two outposts. Compare points likely to be held over the scoring period, not just the larger rate. A high-value position that cannot be retained can contribute less than a modest position the roster can secure. This is strategic reasoning; the exact calculation depends on the scoring mode shown in that session.

After Resolution

Save the occupation result and relevant battle reports. Record where the automatic distribution was changed and whether it improved coverage. Use that evidence next cycle instead of repeatedly rebuilding assignments from memory.

When comparing reports, account for hero generations and availability, troop development and formation differences. Power is a useful sorting value but does not explain every matchup.

F2P and Spender Priorities

F2P members: register a complete formation and communicate its limits. Participation with a realistic assignment can contribute more than spending fragments solely to increase the number displayed before a deadline.

Spending members: ask where additional strength changes an occupation result. Upgrading an already dominant position may add less alliance value than solving a weak position, although the personal damage incentives may point elsewhere.

Neither group should purchase an upgrade on the assumption that unused resources themselves score in Showdown. Read the event objective; use Throwdown or the SotF guide for material-spending tasks.

Common Mistakes

  • Following a three-lane guide on the revamped outpost map.
  • Counting unregistered members in the plan.
  • Assuming the automatic distribution is the final strategy.
  • Chasing personal damage while losing the agreed occupation objective.
  • Missing the deadline for an R4/R5 adjustment.

FAQ

Does Alliance Showdown still use three lanes? The 1.25.700 revamp replaces them with inner, central and outer zones containing outposts. Check which map your state has.

Who can change assignments? The revamped format permits R4 and R5 members to make manual adjustments after automatic assignment.

How does the alliance score? Through outpost occupation. Read the session's map rules for exact point values and timing.

Are personal damage rewards the same as alliance rewards? No. The revamp adds a solo damage ranking alongside the existing tier rewards.

Key Takeaways

  • Confirm your event format before planning.
  • Register, then inspect the formation stored in the event.
  • Review outpost distribution against occupation objectives.
  • Compare personal damage and alliance results separately.
