Part of the Research Series:
- Research Priorities: Develop the account's permanent stats.
- HQ Upgrade Requirements: Check building prerequisites and historical costs.
Quick Answer
Beyond ordinary HQ 30, Plasma building progression and advanced troop research are separate requirements. Raising HQ does not automatically unlock every higher troop tier.
In the established T11 route, the Institute of Plasma becomes buildable at HQ Plasma 1 once the state unlocks the feature. The final T11 research requires Institute Plasma 5 plus the branch prerequisites. Do not confuse a building's Plasma level, a troop's Plasma stars and a troop's numbered tier.
Overview
Plasma Cores serve several competing development paths. An account can spend heavily on HQ and still lack the Institute level, research or troops needed for the intended march.
Plan backward from the result you want: a usable troop tier, a required building unlock or a specific research benefit. Write the complete chain before committing the scarce currency.
Keep the Terms Separate
| Term | Meaning | Planning consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Plasma building level | Progression above the ordinary level-30 building system | Includes building prerequisites and upgrade stages |
| Institute of Plasma | Building for advanced research | Its own level can block the next research node |
| T11 research | Troop-specific research unlock | Infantry, Rider and Hunter branches must be considered separately |
| Plasma Cores | Material used in building and research development | Spending them on one path delays another |
| Polymerized Plasma | A later material used in relevant upgrades | Do not assume its consumption scores as ordinary cores |
| Crystal Energy Institute | A separate later troop-development system | A T12 question needs its own requirements, not only a T11 checklist |
Older references often write P1, P2 and so on; some use building levels 31, 32 and upward. Read the icon and upgrade panel rather than deriving an unfamiliar modern cost from the number alone.
State Unlock Comes Before the Personal Requirement
The Institute's release has been associated with the New Technology Blueprint state event. Published timelines disagree on a universal week of opening. Check your state's unlock progress instead of treating a historical week-26 or week-34 chart as a guarantee.
If you have reached the personal HQ requirement but cannot build the Institute, inspect the state milestone first. Spending additional cores on unrelated buildings will not necessarily remove a season or state-progression gate.
A Practical Route to T11
- Confirm the state feature is open. Check the building and event requirements.
- Reach the required HQ and prerequisite buildings. Budget those before the research itself.
- Build and level the Institute. Track the level needed by the next node, not just the final unlock.
- Choose the first troop branch for your role. Ask what your main march or alliance actually needs.
- Complete the branch's required nodes. Include research materials and time.
- Finish the troop unlock and develop the troops. An unlocked tier with no usable troops is not the finished result.
The documented T11 endpoints are Pulse Elites for Infantry, Pulse Predators for Riders and Laser Eyes / Pulse Assassins for Hunters. The Institute also includes development such as Strategic Dispatch for march capacity and troop combat stats along the way.
For rally joiners, the alliance's requested troop type may shape the first useful branch. A leader fielding a full formation has a different requirement. Neither role makes a universal “always Hunters first” rule reliable.
Budget the Whole Path
Use four lines in a simple plan: prerequisite buildings, Institute levels, required research and the troops you will train or upgrade afterward. Keep a separate reserve for healing and normal settlement operations.
For each research, distinguish cost of the next level from total cost of the branch. A table's final unlock row does not include all preceding nodes. Do not multiply a single early-level cost to estimate the rest: later costs can follow a different progression.
The train or upgrade comparison helps turn the research unlock into troops efficiently. Check whether your scoring event rewards material use, troop Power gain, speed-ups or another trigger before timing the upgrade.
Cores, Purification and Competing Uses
Check each currency's exact name. Plasma Cores, Polymerized Plasma and other plasma-related materials are not interchangeable labels. Conversion and later spending are separate actions; a task may credit one and not the other.
A further competing use is Behemoth Patrol, which can consume Plasma Cores or Biocaps on supported accounts. Before starting a patrol, inspect the selected currency and compare it with your Behemoth plan. Do not accidentally consume cores reserved for an Institute prerequisite.
Acquire and Convert the Correct Material
Use free Plasma Core sources to track your recurring income, Plasma Lab to budget Discarded Component exchanges, and the Purification Center walkthrough to separate daily core production from Advanced Purification's core consumption. Reserve the complete next building or research requirement before optional conversion.
Newer Building Caps
The 1.24.200 update announced HQ Plasma 18. The later 1.26.500 announcement describes a building cap increase from 48 to 50. Neither announcement supplies the complete cost of every prerequisite or research step.
The Strategic Archive is another example of late building progression unlocking a separate system. Reaching a cap, completing T11 and opening the Archive are different milestones with different requirements.
F2P and Spender Priorities
F2P: finish one useful development target while maintaining resource income and research activity. Preserve cores for the requirement that actually blocks the planned troop or building unlock.
Spenders: price the entire chain and available time savings. Buying a large research bundle does not finish the plan if the Institute is still below the required level or the troop resource budget is missing.
Common Mistakes
- Treating HQ Plasma 5 as an automatic T11 unlock.
- Confusing a final research row with the whole branch cost.
- Using an old state-age chart as a guaranteed opening date.
- Spending cores on patrol or conversion without checking the research reserve.
- Unlocking a tier without budgeting the actual troops.
FAQ
When can I build the Institute of Plasma? The established route requires HQ Plasma 1 and the relevant state feature unlock. Read your state's milestone and building panel.
What Institute level is needed for T11? The documented final T11 research requires Institute Plasma 5, together with the preceding research nodes.
Does upgrading HQ alone give me T11 troops? No. The Institute research path and troop development remain separate parts of the plan.
Should I spend all Plasma Cores on HQ? Only if that is the current blocker in your full plan. Institute levels, research and other systems can compete for the same cores.
Key Takeaways
- Check the state unlock before rushing the personal requirement.
- Budget buildings, Institute levels, research and troops together.
- Keep troop tier and Plasma level terminology separate.
- Verify the precise currency and scoring trigger before spending.
