There isn't one. Counter the type you're facing on offence, stay balanced on defence, and follow your heroes in PvE.

What beats Infantry in State of Survival?

Hunters beat Infantry. Infantry beat Riders, Riders beat Hunters.

Usually yes. March capacity is the binding constraint, so filling it with mixed tiers beats a smaller pure high-tier march.

Roughly balanced, around 35 / 35 / 30. The attacker chooses the matchup, so specialising invites a hard counter.

Barely. Send cheap troops with a gathering hero and fill your capacity.

Almost always a type counter, sometimes a hero skill mismatch. Raw power is one input among several.

Upgrading is generally more efficient, and considerably more so during events that score troop upgrades.
